Dial up settings - 95

Windows 95 Setup
The following instructions describe how to create a new dialup connection to Non-contended

1)

To begin, click the 'Windows Start menu', select 'Settings', select
'Dial-up Networking'.

2)

Double click the 'Make New Connection' icon.

3)

A dialogue box will open which will welcome you to the Network Connection Wizard, click 'next'.

4)

Select the second option 'I have an existing Internet account', and click 'next'.

5)

Select option one on this screen, and click 'next'.

6)

Select 'Connect using my phone line', and click 'next'.

7)

Select 'Create a new dial-up connection', and click 'next'.

8)

Type in 08451207878 into the 'Telephone number' box (leave area code blank). Make sure that the 'Use area code' and 'dialing rules' box is unchecked, and click 'next'.

9)

Type in your 'username' (e.g. ncc000000) and your 'password' (e.g. verify) and click 'next'. If you have forgotten your username and/or password, please refer to your Non-contended welcome e-mail, or alternatively contact Non-contended

Select the 'No' option, and click 'next'..

Type a name for your new connection, such as Non-contended, and click 'next'.


The following instructions explain how to setup an e-mail account using Microsoft Outlook Express.

Select 'Yes' to 'Do you want to setup an Internet mail account now?', and click 'next'.

Type in your name in the 'Display name' box, and click 'next'.

Type in your e-mail address (e.g. joeb@noncontended.com) in the 'E-mail address' box and click 'next'. If you have forgotten your e-mail address, please refer to your Non-contended welcome e-mail, or alternatively contact Non-contended

Select 'POP3' as the 'incoming mail server type' in the drop down menu.

Type 'mail.noncontended.com' as the 'Incoming mail server' address.

Type 'mail.noncontended.com' as the 'Outgoing mail server address', and click 'next'.

Type in your 'username' (e.g. ncc000000) and your 'password' (e.g. verify), and click 'next'. If you have forgotten your username and/or password, please refer to your Non-contended welcome e-mail, or alternatively contact Non-contended

Type in a name for your mail account, and click 'next'.

Select 'No' to setting up a News account, and click 'next'.

21)

Select 'No' to setting up a Directory Service account, and click 'next'.

Click 'Finish' and 'Yes' to restart your computer.

Once your computer has restarted, click the Windows Start menu, select 'Settings', select 'Dial-up Networking'. Right click your 'Non-contended' icon and select 'Properties'.

Select the 'Server Type' tab and make sure that the type of Dial-up server is set to 'PPP: Windows 95, Windows NT 3.5, Internet'.

Make sure all remaining check boxs are unchecked accept the 'TCP/IP' box and click 'OK'.

To use your new Non-contended Internet connection, click the Windows Start menu, select 'Settings', select 'Dial-up Networking' and double click the 'Non-contended' icon.
